Launching our new “Living Healthy in French” microsite

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

As part of the 2021 federal elections, the Société Santé en français (SSF) is launching its website to promote the SSF priorities and create awareness on the lack of health services in French among Francophone and Acadian minority communities.

Ottawa, August 30, 2021 – The Société Santé en français (SSF) is launching its site today, Ma santé, c’est en français – Living healthy, in French, to increase awareness on the priorities of the National francophone health movement, 16 regional, territorial and provincial francophone health networks, during the 2021 federal elections.
The SSF executive director, Mr. Antoine Désilets, stated: “While health is already a major issue in this campaign, it is essential to keep in mind the more than one million Francophones who live in minority situation and who still do not have reliable access to quality health services in French.” The SSF and the 16 French-language health networks are working together to inform political parties, the media, and the public about the importance of French-language health services in Canada.

The SSF, through its national mandate, engages with communities, health systems and partners to promote quality and safe health services in French across the entire continuum of health services, such as primary health services, public health policy and engagement on the social determinants of health. The SSF and the networks will continue to dialogue with all parties in the coming weeks. As political parties have begun to unveil their health and official languages commitments, we invite all SSF partners and stakeholders to consult our social networks (Twitter/ Facebook) and website to stay informed and to engage in French health priorities.

On September 20, 2021, let’s vote for our health. Support health in French. Visit our site today!
