The Cafés de Paris is establishing itself in several provinces and territories in the country!

The Café de Paris is an informal space that allows staff members of a health organization to acquire or maintain basic language skills in French, to interact in French orally and to obtain tools and resources to provide services in both official languages. The model was developed in New Brunswick.

The Réseau-action Organization of Services of the Société Santé et mieux-être en français of New Brunswick brought together the key partners who developed this innovation: the Horizon Health Network, the New Brunswick Heart Center and the Regional Association of the Francophone Community of Saint-Jean to share the main elements of the model, the steps taken and the work tools.

Representatives of the SSF and francophone health networks in Alberta, British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Saskatchewan and Yukon took part in a working session on the Cafés de Paris in Saint-Jean on March 12th and 13th. Field visits took place, as well as the meeting with health professionals who benefited from the Cafés de Paris.
