Building the capacity of welcome centres to offer health and wellness programming (mental health and resilience, inclusion and diversity, LGBTQ+ communities, determinants of health, etc.)

Summary of activity
Réseau-action Communautaire (RAC) plans to offer presentations and training sessions for welcome professionals and their partners, as well as to assemble a list of groups and individuals involved in health and wellness promotion with the ability to support French-language training for settlement partners. Surveys will be used to gauge users’ satisfaction with the quality and relevance of sessions offered by RAC and/or referred resources. Réseau-action Organisation des services de la SSMEFNB (RAOS) also plans to support RAC in assembling the aforementioned list of groups and individuals.
Desired outcomes
The networks collaborate with each other to grow their capacity to deal with issues of health, wellness, and health promotion experienced by welcome centres.
Developments to date
- National webinar on immigrant patients’ experiences of health and wellness.
- Presentations on determinants of health developed based on audience and background.
