Summary of activity
The Réseau de santé en français au Nunavut (Résefan) is holding a territorial consultation with community partners and French-language health networks in order to identify an appropriate mental health training that addresses the unique needs of the North. The training will then be organized and offered to settlement professionals.
Desired outcomes
Settlement professionals receive training on mental health issues.

- Virtual Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training from the Mental Health Commission of Canada
- Training: Intervenir en contexte d’immigration et de diversité ethnoculturelle from the SHERPA University Institute of the West-Central Montreal CIUSSS
- Webinar: Culturally adapted approaches and soft skills in social services and education
Results
- Through networking, the SHERPA University Institute of the West-Central Montreal CIUSSS in Quebec has agreed to create five spaces, free of charge, for its Intervenir en contexte d’immigration et de diversité ethnoculturelle training, which is developed for people who work in Quebec’s health and social services network. Dr. Cécile Rousseau, child psychiatrist, is topmost in her field when it comes to the latest practices in working with immigrants.
