Summary of activity
The Réseau santé en français au Nunavut (Résefan) is organizing a series of thematic workshops dealing with the main health issues affecting newcomers. These workshops bring settlement workers into contact with health specialists. They are designed to prevent situations arising from lack of familiarity with the health system or from the specific realities of francophone immigrants not being sufficiently considered. In addition, Résefan wishes to hold consultations with partners to improve the available tools and trainings and to identify emerging needs.
Desired outcomes
Settlement professionals are able to identify and mobilize the appropriate partners and resources to help their clients integrate. Health professionals are able to identify the needs of the FIN and its clients.
Developments to date
- Consultation meetings to facilitate discussions regarding issues related to IRCC-approved physicians as well as a request from partners for a support service to help identify these physicians
